Letter from our President
Hello H-Town Nittany Nation!
It’s an honor to begin another year as the president of the Penn State Alumni Association for the Houston Chapter! We had a great 2024-25 year, and we are excited to build on that with another great year of events that help bond the Penn State spirit in H-Town!
Last year, we were named a Penn State Alumni Association Group of Distinction — Elm Level for the sixth year in a row! That’s the highest honor that any chapter can receive on a yearly basis, and it shows that we really work hard to give the best Penn State experience to our community. And that’s mostly because our board and our volunteers are the most awesome people that anyone can have! Thank you to all for helping to make our chapter what it is!
It was wonderful seeing all the Penn State pride throughout the year, especially at our football watch parties! We are excited to return this year to both The Phoenix at Westheimer and BLVD Park for our watch parties. Both locations provide flexibility for our diverse group of Penn State alumni. We want to make our watch parties feel at home for all alumni, and these two locations are ready to host us this coming season! We will also have additional events this season, including a community event in the fall, a special THON fundraiser, and more fun activities.
Also, I would like to welcome our new Penn State students from the Houston area! To help recruit more students to PSU, we’re seeking volunteers to participate in college fairs across the Houston area. If you are interested, please contact me at [email protected]. I’m excited to see everyone at our student send-off picnic in the summer and at the first football watch party on August 30!
